Compared to other clothing brands how do Hollister shorts clothing sizes compare? If I wear a 5 or a 29 or 30 waist?

The sizing chart made them seem so small, ordering online, asked this question differently today, hoping for a different set of answers. Anyone got Hollister experience, I don’t. This will be my first pair.

Hollister, and The Limited (it’s parent company) have practiced vanity sizing for ages. Normally, in my book, a 29-30 inch waist is about a size 7.

BUT! Hollister’s shorts don’t come to the waist, they’re low rise and they wear at the hip. So, when determining your bottoms size at Hollister, completely disregard your waist size. Only use the waist size if you wear the shorts at your belly-button.
